Psychotropic Medication Logs
The Morris FPA reminds all active foster homes that it is a licensing requirement for foster parents to maintain a medication log for any children in foster care who have been prescribed psychotropic medications.
The Department of Children and Families has provided a medication log form that foster parents must use to meet this requirement. Many medical professionals encourage parents to keep a log of all medications administered to children, so you may want to consider this as a standard practice in your home for all of your children. The completed forms for children in foster care should be provided to your child's caseworker or child health nurse on a regular basis and must be available to them and to the Office of Licensing representative that inspects your home.
