NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Please join us at our next meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at 7PM at the DYFS Morris West Local Office, when we will have a regular business meeting, followed by some time to share experiences with other foster, adoptive and relative care parents. There is no training curriculum scheduled. Please read the next NEWS item for a new training opportunity. Our next leader-led training in Morris County will be on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, "TPR to Adoption: The Journey to Permanency, " presented by NJARCH.
NEW TRAINING OPPORTUNITY - In lieu of a leader-led training session for February, please consider participating in a FAFS eLive Webinar training, Allegations: It Could Happen to You. This is a two-part training session and each part is pre-approved for 1.5 in-service training hours. The workshop will include important aspects of allegations, such as ways to avoid them in the first place and how to access the appeals process. It will also touch on the range of emotional responsees associated with the ramifications of the findings, whether the result is substantiated or unfounded. Click on the Calendar link, then select the two sessions that you'd like to join. Part One will be offered on February 15th, 17th and 21st, and Part Two will be offered on February 23rd and 29th. Instructions for registering and specific times for each session are listed in the Calendar.
